“Crow Born,” by David Far
The protagonist of “Crow Born” by David Far is shockingly enough a crow that his captor names Nyx. The choice by the author aids the suspension of disbelief for the story, as the highly intelligent birds are featured in almost every culture’s mythology and religions. Nyx is linked to the body and mind of a young boy as a pawn in a game by a wizard in a quest to gain the love of a woman.
But a pawn smartly played can eventually become the most powerful piece on the board. And crows are smart. The story is well worth your time.
