Two brief original tales appear in this issue.
“Alternate Jurors” by Eric Del Carlo features a most unusual justice system. Multiple versions of the same person from parallel universes come together to form a jury. The defendant is yet another alternate self, on trial for murder.
The author fails to develop this intriguing premise. The story’s plot has nothing to do with the trial, leading to an anticlimactic ending.
“In Perpetuity” by Michael Simon follows the progress of the spacecraft Voyager over millions of years. It collides with a similar probe from an alien world. This brief synopsis is the entire plot of this work, which is more of an anecdote than a story.
Victoria Silverwolf thought of Star Trek: The Motion Picture while reading the second story.
