Dark Fantasy aired “The Headless Dead” on January 23, 1942. Originating from station WKY out of Oklahoma City, while popular it lasted only a year and a half, from late 1940 to the summer of 1942. Every episode was scripted by noted horror author Scott Bishop. “The Headless Dead” continues our month-long series of dark fantasy/horror stories and this week we are privy to the macabre rituals of a cult of the Headless Dead–those spirits decapitated and buried in a church, and one man’s frightful encounter with them.
