“Dragon-Smoked Barbeque” by M. K. Hutchins
Hutchins gives us a flash fantasy about a family that is competing in its first barbeque since their beloved and renowned grandpa died. Unlike others who have adopted propane and charcoal, the grandkids continue to use the family’s 300 hundred year-old dragon. Not certain of what they are doing, the grandkids trust to their feelings as they feed the dragon various woods to create the right smoke flavor. But can they ever hope to have the same success as their grandpa?
A light and easy story to read that presents a different perspective on dragons. I found it a pleasant and at times touching story.
