“Missed Connections” by Alena Flick

The protagonist of “Missed Connections” by Alena Flick is an introverted young woman. She amuses herself by placing fictional messages on Internet sites designed to help people get in contact with others they briefly encountered. She claims to be looking for a merman or Princess Anastasia. It is not surprising that one of these messages leads to a supernatural encounter.
Although simple and predictable, this is a pleasant story about learning to connect with people. Anyone who has ever felt nervous about meeting new acquaintances will be able to identify with the main character.
