“Here All Week” by Natasha King
Reviewed by Victoria Silverwolf
The narrator of “Here All Week” by Natasha King appears to be an ordinary woman, but can change into a serpentine monster and devour people. Her best friend is engaged to be married to an abusive man. She sets out to prevent this in her own unique way.
It is likely that even this brief synopsis makes it clear what is going to happen during the climactic scene. The manner in which this is set up is not so predictable, but also makes the narrator even less sympathetic than one would think. This blood-soaked tale is a vividly described example of the familiar theme of supernatural revenge.
