The narrator of “Body Shop” by Henry Luzzatto goes to a business that offers futuristic body enhancements, mostly with the intention of impressing a woman. The employees explain the difficulties involved with the extreme changes he desires.
The main source of humor in this brief comic tale is the fact that the business resembles an automobile repair shop, hence the punning title. The way that the story’s last line reflects its first line turns it into an extended joke. The whole thing is worth a few chuckles.
