“Catherine Wheels” by E.L. Mellor

“Catherine Wheels” by E.L. Mellor is a quiet but deep tale. On the surface, Jane visits her brother and his family after two decades of working as a nurse in Africa. But underneath, the tale asks a lot of good questions about the role of doubt in faith, how guilt affects us, what a saint could have looked like if you had met them as a child and real communication and communion. The title could be interpreted in at least three different ways by the end of the story. A lovely read.
