“The Cure” by A.J. Cunder

Reviewed by Victoria Silverwolf

The narrator of “The Cure” by A.J. Cunder is Death. A young girl is able to perceive the entity, and witnesses it take away her father’s soul. She grows up to be a medical researcher, discovering a way for human bodies to regenerate themselves, becoming immortal. As Death ponders the possibility of losing the reason for its existence, the world faces the unexpected consequences of her invention.

This mixture of science fiction and fantasy manages to makes its speculative content seem quite plausible, even when it leads to an apocalyptic conclusion. Credit should be given to the author’s clear, realistic style. Death becomes a fully developed character, instead of just an abstraction.

Victoria Silverwolf has been seeing a lot of bunny rabbits near her house lately.
