Flash Fiction Online for June is mostly reprints and literary stories, but it does have two original stories.
“This Island Toward Which I Row and Row Yet Cannot Reach Alone” by Jennifer Lesh Fleck describes an incident in the life of screen name “WobblyWinnie,” who suffers from some chronic ailment and who asks “Squire0829” for a chance to share their life for an evening to go dancing. Charming story that’s quite satisfying.
Madeline White contributes “The Seal Wife,” a selkie story where Isla, despite all the warnings, begins to interact with a human. Much like the first story, it has plenty of charm as the relationship develops.
Chuck Rothman’s historical fantasy novel The Cadaver Princess was just published by Amazing Selects, the book imprint of Amazing Stories.
