In “The Dream Stallion and the Night Cat” by E. E. King, the title horse brings dreams to the world and the title feline brings night. The stallion goes missing and the cat searches for him. When they are reunited they perform a service to a human being.

This is a gentle, mythic tale, almost like a bedtime story. It might be best described as sweet. It is most appropriate for younger readers. Those with more sophisticated tastes may find it sentimental.
