This month, Cosmic Roots & Eldritch Shores has one story in the fantasy category.
“Ghost Blue, Ghost Red” by Malda Marlys
Remmy sells snake oil in this short fantasy set in the old west. She is better than most because she includes a little blue ghostly spirit with her potions. But in this next western town, she finds business is slow because a red ghost haunts the town each night.
That night, Remmy searches for the red ghost and is surprised to find it strapped to a camel. The ghost’s tale of woe moves Remmy, but she has a business to run. What can she offer a phantom that has no use for material things?
The author’s story was a pleasure to read with a light and slightly whimsical approach to the tale.
