Dave Truesdale edited the earlier, original print fanzine Tangent from 1975-77. He reincarnated it in 1993 as the first SF short-fiction review magazine to review every piece of original fiction in genre magazines, original collections, and single author collections he could find (though it reviews much reprint short fiction as well). It moved to the web in 1997 and has since been honored with six Hugo Award nominations and one World Fantasy Award nomination.

With few exceptions Tangent Online now reviews only those fiction markets (print and electronic) paying pro-rates as defined by SFWA as being 6 cents/wd.
