“Strange Waters” by Samantha Mills

Reviewed by Victoria Silverwolf

A fisherwoman journeys back and forth through time in “Strange Waters” by Samantha Mills. She begins her odyssey through the ages by accident, when a storm carries her away from her own time and her four children. She struggles to return to them for many years, sometimes arriving in the remote past, sometimes the far future. The premise is an intriguing one, developed vividly and thoughtfully. The story has strong emotional appeal, while avoiding sentimentality. The author writes with style and grace.
