The Three Nights of the Half-Gent” by Mario de Seabra Coelho

Reviewed by Benjamin Wheeler

This week’s story revolves around melancholia and the hope of things that may never happen or have happened, but are now forgotten. “The Three Nights of the Half-Gent” by Mario de Seabra Coelho follows Half-Gent as he watches Vallerina dance and waits for what comes after his death. This is a strange piece, but tickles emotions that might not have a proper name or equivalent in many people’s lives. It is worth a read, if only to try and walk the landscape of the rotting, personable dead.
