Escape aired Vincent Price starring in “Present Tense” on January 31, 1950 as episode 108 of this highly regarded, long-running radio series (1947-1954). Written especially for Escape by veteran Hollywood screenwriter James Poe (1921-1980), Poe is best known for his work on such highly praised films as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Lilies of the Field, and They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?, as well as Around the World in 80 Days, for which he shared with John Farrow and S. J. Perelman an Oscar in 1957 for Best Adapted Screenplay. Poe also wrote radio scripts for Suspense and Escape, two of his most  classic being “Three Skeleton Key” and “Present Tense,” both starring the incomparable Vincent Price.

Definitely not for the squeamish, listen if you dare to the deranged, wandering thoughts of a man turned wife murderer as he plans a crafty escape from his fate in the gas chamber. A merry romp into surreal psychological horror as only the iconic voice of Vincent Price could bring to life.
